Where can I find WordPlay with Kwame Alexander?
You will find WordPlay with Kwame Alexander at Kwame’s Funhouse, a green WordPlay-themed building located in the Marketplace, near the entrance to the Commons. It should be easy to find if you navigate your Avatar around the Marketplace. Once you see it, click or tap on the door to enter.
Why can’t I get to the Marketplace to access WordPlay?
The Marketplace area is locked until your Avatar reaches Level 3 and will automatically unlock when you reach that level. So, if you’re on Level 1 or Level 2 now, you’ll just need to be patient and come back as soon as you get to Level 3.
How do I get started with WordPlay with Kwame Alexander?
- Go to the Marketplace and enter Kwame’s Funhouse.
- Once inside the building, head to the back wall that says WordPlay with Kwame Alexander, and click or tap it.
- This will open up WordPlay with Kwame Alexander, and you can start learning with Episode 1 all the way up to Episode 10!
Each set of activities covers one step in the short story writing process that you will learn. We recommend completing one episode at a time, starting with Episode 1.
In addition, WordPlay with Kwame Alexander is an Adventure Map! After a player has completed all the activities in every spot on the Adventure Map, they'll receive 1,000 Coins and 1,000 XP as a reward.
Can I access WordPlay with Kwame Alexander at a Kiosk?
Yes! The activities in WordPlay with Kwame Alexander are also available in Kiosks for players to access.
Each episode of WordPlay with Kwame Alexander is available as a lesson in the Lessons tab of the Kiosk, under the English Language Arts section.
A WordPlay section is also available for all of the related WordPlay videos.
Why can’t I find any WordPlay lessons and videos in the Kiosk?
If you are not seeing any WordPlay activities in the Kiosks, your Avatar is most likely not set at a high enough Academic Difficulty Level. WordPlay with Kwame Alexander activities require Avatars to be set at the Advanced Academic Difficulty Level setting. Advanced Academic Difficulty Level players will have access to these activities in the Kiosks automatically. If you are set to a lower Academic Difficulty Level setting (Beginner or Intermediate), you will need to adjust your Academic Difficulty Level setting to Advanced or All Levels to access WordPlay activities in the Kiosks.
