What is Word Trace?

Word Trace is a Multiplayer Game in Adventure Academy!

Two players face off against one another by spelling out words from a 4x4 grid of randomly selected letter tiles for points. The player who has the most points when the time runs out wins the match!

How do I play a game of Word Trace?

There are several ways a player can start a game of Word Trace:

• From the Games Menu
• Sending a Word Trace game invite to another player
• Receiving a Word Trace game invite from another player

How do I start a game of Word Trace from the Games Menu?

1. Click the Games icon near the bottom right of your screen.
   
2. After selecting this icon, the Games Menu will open.
   
3. Click/tap Quick Game in the Word Trace section.

From there, you’ll be matched with another player who also wants to play Word Trace, and then the game will start!

How do I invite another player to play a game of Word Trace with me?

If you want to invite a specific player to play a game of Word Trace with you, then follow the steps below:

1. Click/tap the Avatar of the player you want to invite to play a game of Word Trace.
2. This will pull up their Player Menu Panel.
   
3. Select the Word Trace icon.
   
4. You'll need to confirm if you want to send that specific player an invite to play Word Trace.
5. Click Send Invite, and wait for the player’s response.
   • If they accept the invite, then a Word Trace match will begin.
   • If they decline, then a Word Trace match will not start.

If you change your mind about inviting a player to play Word Trace, you can cancel the invite.

• If you have not sent the invite yet on the Word Trace invitation:
  1. Click/tap the X button to close the invitation.
• If you have already sent a Word Trace invite to the player:
  1. Click/tap the Cancel Invite option.
  2. It will then confirm whether or not you'd like to quit the game invite.
     • Select Quit to close out the invite.
     • Select Don't Quit to keep the invite available to the other player.

What do I do if I receive a Word Trace game invite from another player?

If you receive an invite for a game of Word Trace from another player, you can accept or decline it.

• Accepting the invite will start a Word Trace match with the player who invited you.
• Declining the invite will remove the invite, and a Word Trace game will not occur with the player who sent the invitation.

Are there any tips on playing Word Trace?

The goal is to earn the most points by spelling out words! With that in mind, here are a few tips to consider when playing:

• Make sure the words you trace are spelled correctly.
• A word can only be used once points-wise, so try to spell as many words as you can.
• Points are tallied based on how many letters are used per word. So the bigger the word, the bigger amount of points you’ll earn for it.
• Keep an eye out for multipliers!
  • Multipliers are little bonuses that will highlight a letter tile in gold for a brief period of time. Successfully spelling a word with a letter tile that has a multiplier will provide a bigger point amount for the word than usual.
    

Does playing Word Trace give players a reward?

Both players who play a game of Word Trace will receive a reward of XP and Coins once the match has finished. Winning the match will provide a bigger amount of XP and Coins.
