We love seeing Adventure AcademyTM players create fan content, like gameplay videos on YouTube and fan accounts on Instagram. If a player decides to create fan content based on Adventure AcademyTM, they must follow these rules:
- Your fan content must be free to watch and share.
- Your fan content must say in the title that it is “unofficial”- meaning it was not made by the people who work at Adventure AcademyTM.
- Your fan content’s purpose must be for fun, and not to make money. Also, you can’t create new products or services based on Adventure AcademyTM, such as t-shirts or a new game, even if it is free.
- Your fan content must not include things not made by you, like someone else’s photos, songs, cartoons, or videos unless you have their permission.
- Your fan content must not include personal information of others, like a player’s last name or birthdate.
- Your fan content must not hurt others, like bullying, being mean, embarrassing or saying bad things.
- Your fan content must be for audiences aged 2-12 years old and can’t be violent, use bad words, be fake or include lies, or be discriminatory.
- Your fan content must not change Adventure AcademyTM, like changing the colors, fonts, characters, names, or deleting the © or TM marks.
- Your fan content must follow the laws, as well as the rules of platforms you share your content on, like the YouTube or Instagram rules.
- Your fan content cannot be a contest or sweepstakes, or be part of a contest or sweepstakes.
If you create fan content, the company that created Adventure AcademyTM and other people may use, promote or share it. If you break any of these rules, we may ask that you take down the fan content and you will take it down quickly, or we can contact the platform that hosts your fan content, like YouTube or Instagram, and ask them to take it down.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some common questions you may have about our fan content rules:
Q: What are examples of fan content?
A: Free fan pages, blogs, gameplay or tutorial videos. Fan content is something you create based on your imagination, but it should never be just a straight copy of our game with nothing more. For example, a gameplay video by itself is a straight copy and breaks these rules, but a gameplay video with you talking about your gameplay is allowed.
Q: Does fan content include live streams?
A: Yes. Just follow the rules while livestreaming.
Q: Are comments on a YouTube video or Instagram post considered fan content?
A: No. If you see user comments that are mean or bad, please report them to YouTube or Instagram
Q: What type of fan content is NOT allowed?
A: Merchandise of any kind, like t-shirts, hats, mugs, dolls, figures, coloring books, sticker books, and similar products, that use our game. Games that use our Adventure Academy content are also not allowed, even if they are free.
Q: Can I ask someone to pay me money to get my fan content?
A: No. Your fan content has to be free.
Q: Can I ask someone to give me their email address before showing them my fan content?
A: No. Your fan content has to be free. If they like your fan content and ask you to send them more via email, then that is ok.
Q: Can I call my gameplay video “Adventure AcademyTM Gameplay”?
A: No, because fans may think we made the video and not you. Instead, you can call it “Jenny’s Tutorial for Adventure Academy” or “John’s Tutorial for Adventure Academy”.
Q: My YouTube Channel where I show my gameplay of Adventure AcademyTM is popular and a juice brand wants to pay me to create a gameplay video featuring their juice. Is this allowed?
A: No, we do not want other people’s products or brands advertised with our game in your fan content. However, you may run standard YouTube ads against your gameplay content (i.e., the ads that run before a video plays) and collect money you earn from YouTube.
Q: Can I use Adventure AcademyTM characters, like any of the Professors, on my fan page?
A: Yes, so long as you follow the rules.
Q: If I’m doing a gameplay video, can I change the colors or background that appear in the gameplay?
A: No, keep those as they appear in the game.
Q: Can the Company that owns Adventure AcademyTM or other people use or share my fan content?
A: Yes. These rules are to support the sharing of everyone’s fan content so many people can enjoy it. If you create fan content, you need to be ok with others using your fan content without asking for your permission and without paying you for it.
Q: I created a cool video that contains my Avatar and those of my friends. Can I post the video to my YouTube Channel and Instagram stories?
A: Yes, as long as you got permission from each of your friends that are in the video to do so.
Q: Can my video include music?
A: No, not unless you obtained permission from the owner of the music. If you wrote the music by yourself so it is original, then it is ok.
Q: Can my gameplay video include the Private Chat or Club Chat I had with my two friends?
A: No, these chats are meant to be private between you and your friends. However, you can include your General Chat as long as you get your friends’ permission and the General Chat doesn’t include any personal information about any of you like what school you go to, or your social media names.
Q: Can I make fun of the way someone’s Avatar looks in a social media post?
A: No, your fan content must respect other players and making fun of someone’s Avatar is mean and against the rules.
Q: If someone made a mean video of my Avatar, can I make a mean video of them?
A: No, your fan content must respect other players even if they were mean to you. You cannot seek revenge through your fan content.
Q: Can I post my gameplay video even if I accidentally used a bad word in it?
A: No, your fan content can’t include bad words.
Q: Can I post a gameplay video and have people comment on it in order to win a prize?
A: No, you cannot use fan content for a sweepstakes or contest.
Q: What happens if my fan content doesn’t follow these rules?
A: We may ask you to take down your fan content, and you agree that you will do so quickly. We may also contact the platform hosting your fan content and request its removal. The fact that we’ve allowed fan content before does not affect our right or ability to remove, or request removal of, fan content.
Q: What should I do if I encounter fan content that breaks the rules?
A: Please report it to our Customer Care team by filling out a support ticket or 1-866-922-1679. We also recommend reporting it to the hosting platform, for example, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, TikTok, etc.
Q: What if something isn’t covered by the rules?
A: Then, it is not allowed. Thank you for respecting our game and our Company’s rights.
