As you navigate the Adventure Academy world, one of the fun things you can do is look around for items you can collect. This process is called “harvesting,” and the things you gather are referred to as “harvestable items” or “harvestables.”
What are some of the items I can harvest?
- Acorns
- Sticks
- Rocks
- Feathers
- Flowers
- Vegetables like carrots, cabbages, and mushrooms
- Fruits like apples and peaches
- Fish
- Shells
- Seaweed
- Driftwood and tree bark
- Pine cones and pine needles
- Moss, lichen, and leaves
- Whimseyweave, ferns, and other plants
- Wink Webs
- Metal ores
- Treasure chests
- …and more!
Where can I find harvestable items to collect?
No matter where you are in Adventure Academy, there will be some harvestable items around. Some items are widespread and some will only appear in specific, limited areas. For example, you won’t find any carrots growing inside the Academy or catch any fish on the lawns of the Commons (but you will find Whimseyweave there, as you can see below).
What do harvestable items look like?
As you can see from the list above, there is a very wide variety of harvestable items, and most of them look like they do in the real world. A stick looks like a stick. An apple looks like an apple. A treasure chest looks like a treasure chest.
But, in general, harvestables will appear in pile or cluster of whatever the item is: a bed of flowers, a tree filled with apples, a school of fish, or a pile of rocks (which is what’s shown in the following screenshot).
How do I collect harvestable items?
Once you find harvestable items, collecting them is generally easy. You simple click or tap on it. Your Avatar will then collect it, and you’ll receive a notification of what harvestable item you received.
Catching fish is a notable exception: to catch fish requires you to purchase a fishing pole and to use the pole in a certain way to cast and catch a fish. It’s essentially a fishing mini-game.

Why was the harvestable item I collected not what I expected?
Usually you will not be too surprised by what you harvest, but within most categories of items there is a wide variety of individual types: there are different types of ore (gold, silver, copper, tin), different types of mushrooms (Oyster, Chantarelle, Bear’s Head, Fairy Ring, etc.), different types of fish (Goldfish, Catfish, Koi, Bass, Minnows, Angelfish, Tribberfish, Pufferfish, etc.), and different types of flowers (Mountainbell, Foxbell, Spring Beauty, Starflower, Sunflower, Water Lilly, Iris, Glass Flowr, Fairy Flower, etc.).
One example of a harvestable you may misidentify is when you see what looks like a pile of sticks. Typically, these appear underneath trees. While you may indeed collect sticks, you could also get harvestable items like tree bark or oak leaves.
Why can’t I find any harvestable items where they should be?
When any player has collected harvestable items from a spot, it will take some time for the spot to refresh with new harvestable items that you can collect. The good news is that that process is much quicker in Adventure Academy than in the real world. But you still may need to wait and check back on an area more than once, or look for the same item in another location.
Where can I find the harvestable items I’ve collected?
You can find Harvestables, like most other items, in a your Inventory. Click on your Backpack to open your Inventory, and look under the apple icon tab for your collection of harvestables.

What are harvestable items used for?
Harvestable items are mainly used for Quests, Daily Missions, and Recipes. Quests and Daily Missions may require you to collect one or more harvestable item to complete your objective. Recipes are used to craft new items, and may need harvestable items to use like “ingredients” in the recipe to create the item.
